Metal Smith Shop

The Metal Smith Shop, a reconstructed log cabin ca. 1797, houses wares of pewter, tin, copper, silver and brass.
Virginia’s virgin forest provided materials for the first settlers’ most basic shelter.  Centuries ago, first growth trees were felled and the wood hewn to form this single-room log cabin in Piney River, Virginia, 45 minutes south of here.  Michie Tavern was able to preserve and reconstruct this wonderful structure; the work was completed in July 2009.
