The Monticello Neighborhood Pass is a discount combination adult tour ticket to Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highland and Michie Tavern ca. 1784.
At Monticello, the Monticello Neighborhood Pass entitles you to a Day Pass. The included guided House Tour covers the rooms on Monticello’s first floor and lasts about 30 minutes. The Pass also includes access to the grounds on the day of your House Tour and two optional outdoor guided tours: Slavery at Monticello and Gardens and Grounds, which are offered daily April-October.
At Ash Lawn-Highland, the Monticello Neighborhood Pass includes a guided House Tour of James Monroe’s “cabin castle” lasting about 35 minutes, and offers a self-guided visit to the grounds, dependency spaces, and restored outbuildings. Ash Lawn-Highland is open year-round, closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
At Michie Tavern ca. 1784, the Monticello Neighborhood Pass offers a self-guided tour of the oldest section of this Virginia Landmark. Interpretations on drinking, lodging and entertainment explore the many facets of 18th century life. Family-friendly, educational and fun, enjoy at your own pace. Continuous, self-guided tours are 9 to 5 p.m. daily. Last tour: 4:20 p.m. Michie Tavern is open year-round, closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
You may purchase the Monticello Neighborhood Pass on the day of your visit at several Charlottesville locations including Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highland and Michie Tavern. However, we strongly recommend an advance on-line purchase before the day of visit. You may reserve a time to see the House when you purchase your Neighborhood Pass from Monticello online. Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time.
